CMV Truck and Bus is seeking a Technical Trainer to work at their modern Technical Training Institute at Derrimut. This is a rare opportunity for a highly motivated individual to secure a challenging and rewarding career position.
The person we seek
The ideal candidate will be a trade qualified Diesel Technician with:
A strong work ethic
Good knowledge of the heavy automotive industry
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective communication skills including written, spoken and listening
Solid computer skills including MS Office applications
A recognised training qualification
Key functions of the role include:
Design and prepare training and instructional materials, teaching aids and devices.
Monitor and evaluate operations, programmes, processes and practices for quality and effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement.
Act as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of Apprentices, staff, customers, or management.
Maintain, create and update files and record keeping systems. Sort, label, file and retrieve documents or other materials.
Establish, organise and maintain apprentice files and co-ordinate paperwork including Apprentice databases, competency form tracker, TAFE student registrations.
Deliver presentations, stand up training or instruction to Apprentices, staff, customers, or management.
Liaise with other bodies, such as TAFE, employers, customers, suppliers.
Monitor Apprentices attendance and progress.
Deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques.
Develop curriculum, learning objectives and course materials.
Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
Evaluate individual apprentices for competency.
About the CMV Technical Training Institute
The CMV Technical Training Institute is a dedicated training facility located on site on the new CMV Truck and Bus - Derrimut Dealership.
The Technical Training Institute was created to train and mentor Apprentices via the industry leading CMV Truck and Bus Automotive Apprenticeship Scheme to ensure all CMV Truck and Bus Dealership technical staff are well qualified and highly motivated. Today the Training Institute is responsible for approximately 70 Apprentices and 200 Diesel Technicians.
The Technical Training Institute also provides all our service staff with ongoing learning and specialist product training across all Volvo Group truck brands.
