About the opportunity

This position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for all service activities at the Bayswater VIC workshop.

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Book and schedule workshop jobs

  • Diagnose vehicle specific issues

  • Quote and source parts for service jobs

  • Manage parts returns including cores for reconditioning

  • Invoice completed jobs

  • Supervise and mentor workshop staff

  • Provide technical support to staff and customers

  • Observe and enforce OH&S & QA management

The person we seek

A trade qualified heavy truck Technician, ideally with 5+ years experience.

We need a genuine team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

A heavy vehicle licence is essential and forklift licence would be advantageous.

Required, qualifications, skills, & experience include:

  • Ability to determine alternative solutions to customers and sell them on the benefits.

  • Advanced mechanical skills and problem-solving ability.

  • Understanding of heavy vehicle power steering systems and parts preferred.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Level headed.

  • Basic computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to learn Job management and Invoicing processes and procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to follow and help develop work instructions.

  • Ability and willingness to assist the workshop with simple heavy vehicle power steering systems.

  • Willingness to follow workshop systems and adhere to set technical standards.
