About the Role


Due to a significant increase in customer demand, we need an experienced manufacturing and assembly TA at the Bayswater branch. Initially this position will be full time casual with the possibility for future permanent employment.


The purpose of this role is to contribute to the manufacture, assembly and repair of products suitable for use in the Heavy Vehicle Power Steering industry. Utilising a mixture of manual processes and equipment as well as the use / program of CNC equipment.


Typical Day


On a daily basis the role could include the following


1) Manufacture parts to existing drawings using manual or CNC equipment


2) Assembly of manufactured and purchased components to drawings and/or work instructions


3) Spray painting, Hydraulic press work, general assistance within the business



The Person we seek


We need an enthusiastic and reliable person who takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about delivering a quality outcome.


Ideally, you will have 5 years operational experience as a trades assistant in a hands on manufacturing and assembly role, preferably with CNC operation.


Required attributes, skills and experience


  • Advanced mechanical skills and aptitude

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Level headed under pressure

  • Understanding and competency in manual assembly and disassembly techniques

  • Knowledge and experience in the operation of CNC Lathe

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Willingness to rapidly move from job to job and skill to skill

  • Flexibility to help in other areas of the business such as stores, picking and packing or in the workshop stripping steering gears or helping remove a steering gear from a truck
