GPR Truck Service and Repairs is a family-owned repair workshop with over 35 years of service to the transport industry. Located in Welshpool, they provide services to a broad range of industries and work on an extensive variety of road transport equipment.


About the role


They require two qualified Heavy Truck Technicians to operate from their busy Welshpool workshop. You will be responsible for performing a range of service and repair work to customer’s vehicles and related transport equipment.



The people we seek


You will have a sound knowledge of heavy diesel mechanics across various ages, makes and models of vehicles and equipment including trailers and dollies. You must be an organised, reliable and self motivated person who can work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Carry out scheduled service and repairs to customers’ vehicles in the company workshop as required

  • Diagnose faults and test drive vehicles as required to ensure vehicles are completed and faults corrected to the customers’ satisfaction.

  • Ensure job cards and related paperwork is completed and processed according to company policy.


Essential attributes, skills and experience

  • Must be a Fully Qualified Mechanic - Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) 

  • Reliable team player with strong work ethic

  • Customer focussed with good communication skills

  • HR / HC Driving Licence

  • Safety first approach

  • Be able to “think out of the box” to provide positive outcomes.

  • Detail orientated and good with paperwork and record keeping

  • Own tools


Desirable attributes, skills and experience

  • Experience in a field service role in the Transport Industry.

  • First Aid Certificate.

  • Training in Computer Diagnostic equipment.

  • Experience in a broad range of road transport equipment.

  • Hydraulic and Electrical knowledge.
